Chăm Luyện

What it does

Chăm Luyện helps Vietnamese primary-school children practise and take short tests on their own, from lớp 1 to lớp 5 and in lớp 7: the school subjects of each grade (Toán, Tiếng Việt or Ngữ văn, Tiếng Anh, science, history and geography and more), and in lớp 1 also Đánh vần and Tập viết. It does not teach new lessons: it keeps the child company while they work, the way a patient older friend would. The app is in Vietnamese.

• Lớp 1 questions read aloud, in a Northern or a Southern accent, so a child who cannot read every word yet can still work alone. Tiếng Anh is read with an American English voice. The other grades are shown as text for now.
• Hints in steps. First a nudge on how to work it out, then a bigger clue, then an explanation that counts along with the voice. The answer is never given straight away.
• Letters traced on an ô li grid. The buddy shows each stroke and says where the pen starts, goes and stops.
• A buddy the child makes. Pick an animal, colours, eyes, a mouth and an outfit such as a red scarf or a conical hat. The buddy encourages after a mistake and never scolds.
• Stars and break time. Tests and practice earn stars and minutes for a small game. Grown-ups set the rules and how long a break lasts.
• A national board for the break games. A child signed in to an account can see how their best score ranks among other children.
• No AI. Every line the child hears was written in advance; the buddy picks its lines by simple rules on the device.

Follows the 2018 national curriculum (Chương trình GDPT 2018) for every grade, with original questions. A few lessons of each subject are free to try; full access needs an account, which we create on request. Requires an iPhone or iPad with iOS 17 or later.

Privacy

Chăm Luyện has no ads, no analytics and no tracking. Without an account, nothing about your child leaves the device; the app only downloads extra voices, which are plain sound files. With an account the app also talks to our server, as the policy explains. The full privacy policy has the details.
